On Thursday, April 10, CMV Truck & Bus Albury/Wodonga hosted an exclusive VIP event for our valued customers that left everyone buzzing with excitement.
The Volvo & Mack Power & Efficiency Showcase was a resounding success with our guests eager to experience the latest in trucking technology from Volvo Trucks Australia and Mack Trucks Australia.

The highlight of the event would have to be being able to give our guests the chance to get up close with the powerful and efficient 17L 780hp Euro 6 Volvo and Mack trucks, ready to tackle the toughest challenges on the road.
During the day, guests had the opportunity to test drive a Volvo FH16 and Mack Super-Liner, experiencing their remarkable power and efficiency firsthand.
The test drives were a hit, with many attendees expressing how impressed they were with the performance and advanced features, such as the 3800 Nm of torque and the single efficient turbocharger that optimises combustion and reduces emissions. Following the test drives, guests joined us for a very special afternoon at the dealership which had been transformed into a stunning event space surrounded by an impressive display of Volvo and Mack Trucks.
A delicious selection of canapes from Ebden & Olive and drinks from Vinbar were served, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
To begin the event’s official formalities, CMV Truck & Bus Albury/Wodonga Branch Manager, Kurt Grossrieder, gave everyone with a warm welcome, thanking both valued customers and Volvo Group Australia representatives who had travelled from near and far to attend.
“It’s fantastic to see so many faces here today and we appreciate you taking the time to be a part of this special event. We are also absolutely thrilled to have Volvo Group Australia representatives here in Wodonga, it’s a real privilege to have these experts joining us,” said Kurt.
Guests then heard from Anthony Russell, CMV Truck & Bus General Manager – Eastern Victoria, who spoke with enthusiasm about our commitment to regional customers and how we will continue to support them now and into the future.
Tom Chapman, Volvo Trucks Australia Vice President, then took the stage to share an update on the latest developments from the brand and its manufacturing operations.
Next the audience heard from Aaron Lewis, Volvo Trucks Australia Product Manager who provided an insightful presentation about the Volvo Euro 6 heavy duty range.
Aaron provided an in-depth update about Volvo’s latest technological advancements, highlighting the innovations that make the 17L 780hp trucks a cut above the rest. Guests were particularly excited to learn about the advanced fuel efficiency of the Volvo FH16's engine.
The spotlight then turned to the Mack Trucks brand, with Regional Commercial Manager, Darren Cowan, passionately speaking about what’s on the horizon for Mack. He also expressed his gratitude to the Albury/Wodonga team for hosting an outstanding event and giving customers the opportunity to experience the upgrades firsthand.
The extremely knowledgeable Mack Trucks Senior Product Manager, Tom Welsh, then took to the stage to provide a deeper understanding of the benefits of the Mack 17L Euro 6, including torque enhancements, gear ratios and the driver comfort features, like the spacious 70-inch stand-up sleeper cabs.
Pieter Le Roux, Volvo Group Australia Regional Service Solutions Manager then presented on how to achieve cost control and worry-free ownership of these industry leading trucks with the right Service Contract. Pieter also provided everyone with an insight into the benefits of Volvo Connect and how this data can improve the profitability of your fleet.
Once attendees had heard from all of our expert presenters, Kurt had the honour of closing the night’s formalities and took the opportunity to thank everyone for being a part of such a special occasion.
Overall, our VIP Volvo & Mack Power & Efficiency Showcase was a fantastic opportunity for customers to get an up-close look at the future of trucking. The combination of incredible food, expert insights, and hands-on experiences made for a very memorable event.
