The CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong team are proud to have sold Vic Mix the latest addition to their fleet of distinctive, bright pink trucks – a UD Quon 8x4 CG 30 360 Agitator.

Vic Mix’s fleet deliver concrete across Melbourne, while also spreading important awareness of the Breast Cancer Network Australia and the amazing work they do providing support to those with breast cancer.

Vic Mix was established in 2007 by brothers Michael and Tony DeLuca, along with colleague Joe Pietrosanto. CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong has been working with the Vic Mix team for over 10 years, and our Dandenong Sales Manager, Mark Brennan, works closely with Michael, Director of Vic Mix and his team to ensure their “pink” fleet is complete and up to any job.

“Vic Mix have been dealing with CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong since early 2011, purchasing many Mack Agi’s in that time, as well as this UD” says Mark.

After starting with ten trucks, Vic Mix now have an impressive fleet of 75 concrete agitators, all featuring the distinctive pink exterior and the Breast Cancer Network Australia logo at the rear.

“We painted our fleet pink to support Breast Cancer Network Australia. You can see their logo towards the back of the barrel on the truck” says Michael. “We lost a sister-in-law to breast cancer back in 1990, and she left behind three boys under six, so it’s a cause we take personally.”
The latest truck to sport this exterior is the new addition, the UD Quon 8x4 CG 30 360 agitator.

“We’ve always liked Japanese trucks,” says Michael. “We’ve got some American bonneted models as well, but when it came time to get a new truck we thought we’d invest in UD.”

Mark and our Dandenong team worked with the Vic Mix crew to ensure that the UD Quon would be built speciafically for it’s application and become an integral part of the fleet.

“Vic Mix have had Japanese trucks in the fleet in the past and they were keen to try again thanks to UD’s strong reputation for reliability,” according to Mark.

Vic Mix’s new UD Quon 8x4 features load sharing twin steer, electronic stability control and disc brakes on all wheels.

“The UD Quon’s twin-steer means we can carry an extra cubic metre-and-a-half of concrete on every trip, that bumps the barrel up to seven cubic metres, so the Quon’s pulling its weight” says Michael.

When considering the Quon, it was apparent the driver experience was one of Vic Mix’s top priorities. “They trialled the demo with numerous drivers before committing to purchase that particular unit which we were more than happy to accommodate – we wanted to ensure it was the right truck for the driver.” says Mark.

So far Michael has every reason to be pleased with his decision, and so has the driver who received the new Quon.

“He spends eight hours a day in it, making five trips, so driver comfort is important,” says Michael. “It’s just a nicer truck to drive than some of the others in our fleet.”

The driver is also a fan of the level of comfort in the Quon’s spacious cab.

“The Quon’s a beautiful truck to drive and the driver absolutely loves it,” says Michael. “It’s got lots of power, and the short nose gives much better visibility and site access.”

While UD hasn’t always been Vic Mix’s truck of choice, it is evident that the Quon has already made a great impression.

“As we phase out older trucks we’ll certainly be considering the Quon. If it keeps performing the way it is at the moment, we’ll be getting more of them,” says Michael.

A big thank you to the Vic Mix team for your ongoing support of CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong and UD Trucks Australia. We look forward to working with you well into the future to expand your impressive fleet of bright pink trucks that play a major role in spreading awareness of the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
