Andrew Burdett, Managing Director of the Burdett Group, has been with the family business since inception. From garden supplies to freight across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, there’s not much they don’t move.
Andrew’s Mum started the Burdett Group back in 1974, and today, the company is a fourth-generation business that is still going strong.
Laura Burdett-Morone is Burdett Group’s Operations Manager and is also Andrew’s daughter. She has been with the company for 5 years and proudly explains that her Nan was as “tough as nails, it started with her and as a female to follow in her footsteps, I am pretty proud.”
Legacy is important to Andrew and Laura, there is a level of expertise and dependability that they have come to expect over the decades. This is why they partner with our CMV Truck & Bus and trust our Dandenong team with all their truck servicing.
Andrew shares, “we don’t have any mechanical workers ourselves, we outsource all of our stuff through contracts.”
Our Dandenong dealership has created a tailored service maintenance contract package which works around the Burdett Group’s busy delivery and transport schedule to keep their trucks on the road with as little downtime as possible to keep their customers happy.
“It’s a package deal, so it’s the afterhours servicing. They go the extra mile. If there is a truck they’ll work late to get it finished so it’s on the road the next day. They will work till 3 in the morning to get them finished. We don’t have to rearrange things. They stick to the schedule that we have promised someone.”
Operating from their Langwarrin depot where they have a retail yard, wholesale yard plus three quarry locations, Burdett’s operate 75 vehicles, choosing to run a range of Mack models such as Super-Liners, Anthems and Metro-Liners.
“Our partnership with CMV Truck & Bus in Dandenong gives us the ability to purchase the right truck for the right job,” says Andrew.
