Since 2004, Cartage Australia has grown from humble beginnings into one of Victoria’s premier cartage contractors, and CMV Truck & Bus has been privileged to support that journey every step of the way.
Our Derrimut Service Department – with its dedicated afternoon shift team – ensures every Volvo in Cartage’s fleet is maintained to the highest standards under Volvo’s Contract Maintenance program. Their pursuit of precision continues to drive us to deliver world-class service, parts, finance, Adblue® and support across their operation.

Founded by Wayne Vella and Ray Cauchi, Cartage Australia has evolved into a powerhouse fleet of 118 PBS-approved vehicles, including 114 Volvos equipped with Hercules bodies. Their early adoption of cutting-edge technologies, such as I-Shift transmission and advanced safety packages, reinforces their role as trailblazers in the transport industry. They were the first in Victoria to implement 5- and 6-axle dog trailers – a clear sign they lead, not follow.
