Apprentice Open Nights 2026

In September 2026, CMV Truck & Bus hosted a series of Apprentice Open Nights across our Clayton, Dandenong, Derrimut, Warrnambool and Shepparton dealerships, welcoming over 100 prospective apprentices, along with their families and friends, to explore exciting career opportunities in the heavy vehicle industry.

The Open Nights provided attendees with a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into what it’s like to undertake a Heavy Vehicle Apprenticeship with CMV Truck & Bus. Guests were introduced to our industry-leading apprenticeship program, world-class training facilities and the rewarding career pathways available across our dealerships, working on leading global brands Volvo, Mack and UD Trucks.

Representatives from the CMV Truck & Bus Training Institute, includingte Richard Lim, Thomas Rhodes and David Lobo, attended each event alongside the Service Managers from our respective dealerships. Together, they shared valuable information about the apprenticeship journey, the support available to apprentices and the long-term career opportunities that can be achieved through the program.

One of the highlights of the evenings was the opportunity for visitors to go behind the scenes inside our workshops and service centres. Guided tours provided a closer look at the advanced tools, equipment and technologies used daily by CMV Truck & Bus technicians. Attendees were able to see our service operations in action and gain a better understanding of the skills required to succeed in today’s transport and automotive industries.

The Open Nights also created a valuable platform for prospective apprentices to connect directly with Training Institute representatives and Service Managers. Through informal discussions and Q&A sessions, attendees were able to ask questions, learn about life as an apprentice and gain insight into the supportive culture that exists across the CMV Truck & Bus network.
