We’re extremely proud to announce that the CMV Truck & Bus Training Institute team have been awarded the 2023 National Training Excellence Award at the Annual National Trucking Industry Awards.
The annual National Trucking Industry Awards recognises businesses and individuals who have gone above and beyond to improve their workplace and the industry. The National Training Excellence Award recognises organisations pro-active action to improve their organisation’s training strategy, and to improve their safety culture.
“We are thrilled to have been awarded the 2023 National Training Excellence Award by the Australian Trucking Association,” says Miles Crawford, CMV Truck & Bus General Manager.
“With an apprenticeship at CMV Truck & Bus we aim to do more than just provide people with jobs. We strive to prepare our apprentices for a long-term career within a diverse, fast-moving and exciting industry.”
The CMV Truck & Bus Apprenticeship Program began in 2003, with a training facility located in Laverton.
In 2017, the CMV Truck & Bus Training Institute moved to its current site, a purpose-built state-of-the-art facility at Derrimut. This site includes 4 training classrooms, 4 fully equipped workshop bays, and an area for major component (engine, gearbox and diff) training.
The on-site workshop is equipped with the same tools that are used within the dealerships, helping the apprentice to understand the safe and proper use of the tools they will be using on a daily basis.
