On Thursday, July 6, the CMV Truck & Bus team were proud to host an Economic Update and Breakfast event with special guest, Westpac Group Chief Economist, Bill Evans.
Within the Australian finance industry, Bill Evans is a highly regarded and respected economic expert whose thoughts and predictions are captured by the media, and he is often quoted in the Financial Review. In 1991 Bill joined Westpac as Chief Economist and Head of Research, plus he has worked as the Research Manager for the Reserve Bank of Australia and as a Treasurer at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. What an impressive list of credentials!
The insightful Economic Update and Breakfast took place at the striking Westpac Client Suites in Melbourne CBD, and upon arrival guests were treated with stunning panoramic city views while they enjoyed their delicious breakfast.
It was great to have the opportunity to bring our Volvo Trucks customers from our eight dealerships across Victoria together for the event, as well as key Volvo Group Australia representatives, including President and CEO Martin Merrick.
We were very grateful that the esteemed Bill Evans was able to provide our customers with his timely insights on the Australian economy, with a specific focus on the transport industry as we continue to endeavor to support our customers into the future.

A key topic that was covered was the transport industries transition to electric vehicles, and it was very fitting that we had a Volvo Trucks FL electric vehicle proudly on display in front of the Westpac building.
