The Australian Freight Industry Awards (AFIAs) take place every year and recognise the outstanding contributions businesses and individuals make to the transport industry.

We are extremely proud to announce that CMV Truck & Bus was the winner of the 2023 Investment in People Award.

This year’s awards took place at Crown Melbourne on Saturday, September 2 and celebrated the achievements of those helping shape the Australian transport industry.

CMV Truck & Bus were extremely proud to receive the Investment in People Award, which recognises innovative programs or initiatives that focus on recruitment, training and up skilling people within the industry.

Ross Greig, CMV Truck & Bus Derrimut Branch Manager was extremely proud to accept the award on behalf of the team.
 

The AFIA judging panel assessed a record number of award submissions in this category this year. Our submission included a video about the evolution of the CMV Care Program, which was introduced by our parent company, the CMV Group, back in 2019.

Both the CMV Group and CMV Truck & Bus believe our staff are our greatest asset and the CMV Care Program focuses on improving the physical, mental and financial wellbeing of all employees.

“At the start of 2022, we noticed that staff were really struggling to spend time on their own wellbeing in between family life and work life. So, we made an effort to start bringing some wellbeing activities and programs to our staff,” explains Ross.

Earlier this year, CMV Truck & Bus Derrimut were also awarded the Health Safety and Wellness Award at the prestigious Volvo Group Australia Dealer Awards for our efforts to improve the wellbeing of our team through the CMV Care Program. This award recognises a dealership’s commitment to the health, safety and overall wellness of employees each and every day.

“The CMV Care Program is now a multi-award winning initiative that is making waves in the entire industry.

We are honoured to receive the Investment in People Awards at the AFIAs - this further affirms that we are prioritising our staff and making positive impacts in their lives, which is an incredible feeling” explains Ross.
