We recently celebrated the official grand reopening of CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong with a spectacular showcase event at the state-of-the-art dealership.
Originally purchased in 2006, the redevelopment of CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong took 18 months to complete, and we were proud to celebrate this incredible milestone with our valued customers, special guests and team members.
Enjoy the video below which features the many highlights from the event.
Guests arrived at the redeveloped dealership to find it had been transformed for this special event.
Hosted underneath the dealership’s new spacious awning, guests were greeted with a range of trucks on display that spanned generations.
This impressive truck display featured many one-of-a-kind vintage trucks from the Crawford Family Collection, including, fully restored, Mack B Model and Volvo G88.
Thank you also to many of our valued customers who proudly had their vehicles on display, including Warwick Doolan’s 50th Anniversary Mack Titan, Andrew Burdett’s 100th Anniversary Mack Trident, Leigh Naughton’s FH16 Volvo and Paul Cootes Mack V8 Superliner.
Plus, we were excited to have an impressive 2016 UD Condor MK which has travelled over 882,000km and still has its original engine and driveline, a true testament to what UD stands for, Ultimate Dependability.
With close to 200 people in attendance, including members of the CMV Group Board and representatives from Volvo Group Australia, our guests enjoyed mouthwatering slow cooked canapes from Bigger than Texas Catering and were entertained by the acoustic duo Nathan & Susie, who set the mood for a wonderful event.
Formalities kicked off with a few words from CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong Branch Manager, Adam Steenbuck, who joined the business 17 years ago as an apprentice.
Adam shared, “it’s been quite a journey for our staff and customers who watched the Dandenong dealership completely transform over the 18+ months of intensive construction. As I’m sure you’ll all agree, to see what it has become today, is quite special.”
CMV Truck & Bus General Manager – Eastern Victoria, Anthony Russell, then proudly stepped up to the microphone and gave everyone an overview of the dealership’s extensive facilities and the story of the redevelopment.
“Key considerations for this development included safety, efficient use of space, a better working environment, and an enhanced customer experience,” Anthony explained.
The redevelopment included increased office space and the construction of the canopy for full-weather customer service. Plus, the addition of four 25-ton inground knuckle lifts and a separate Dangerous Goods Bay for trucks and trailers is a first for the wider CMV Group.
With the addition of the Tech Centre at the rear, the dealership now has 55 truck bays and ample space for trailers, both inside and under the canopy. This assures the long-term viability of our CMV Truck & Bus Dandenong to meet the future requirements of our customers.
After providing guests with an overview of the upgraded facilities, he took the opportunity to thank all of our customers for their ongoing support.
“None of this would have been possible without the fantastic support and partnerships with all our customers. We are extremely grateful for all your support in making this possible,” said Anthony.
A special presentation then took place as Anthony welcomed up customers who have supported the business from the beginning. Including Andrew Burdett (Burdett Group), Leigh Naughton (NTS Transport), Warwick Doolan (Doolans Heavy Haulage), and Kevin Murphy (Spudo).
Guests also heard from the CMV Group’s Executive Director, Paul Crawford, who spoke of how his vision for the dealership evolved. We were also extremely proud to have a very special guest, President and CEO of Volvo Group Australia, Martin Merrick, who had the honour of officially open the dealership.
“This is a dealership of the future, and it means that you the customer will benefit from improved efficiencies and customer experience, plus safety for all involved. I would like to extend my gratitude to the CMV Group for their unwavering partnership and dedication over the past 56 years. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones.”
Formalities finished with CMV Group Joint Managing Director, Miles Crawford extending a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on the night.
“Thank you to all our customers, team members and special guests for joining in the celebrations. This new facility will provide a safe workplace and help support our customers and business partners long into the future,” said Miles.
Throughout the night, guests also had the opportunity to go on a guided tour to receive an exclusive behind the scenes look at the remarkable new dealership.
It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the opportunity to celebrate this incredible dealership redevelopment, we can’t thank everyone who joined us enough for being a part of such a special night.
