The CMV Truck & Bus team were excited to host our annual Apprentice Evening in mid November and it was wonderful to have the opportunity to not only welcome our new apprentices into the program, we were extremely proud to celebrate our graduating apprentices.
Watch the video below for a recap on this year’s fantastic event and hear from our Apprentices about the program that is kick starting their career.
Apprentices, their families and special guests, as well as industry representatives and the CMV Truck & Bus management team joined us for the special night in the Derrimut showroom, which had been transformed for the occasion with Mack, UD and Volvo Trucks proudly on display.
As guests arrived they were greeted by the mouth watering smells from Bigger Than Texas as the team prepared delicious slow cooked and smoked meat for all to enjoy during the night.
CMV Truck & Bus General Manager - Western Victoria, Ross Greig, began the formalities for the night, thanking everyone for joining us to recognise the amazing achievements of our apprentices. He also touched on the success of our award winning Apprenticeship Program, which has spanned over 21 years.
Our Training Institute Training Manager, Mathew Wyatt, then took to the stage to officially welcome our first year apprentices into the program and provide an insight into what is in store for them over the course of their apprenticeship.
Each first year apprentice was then welcomed to stage by Mathew to collect their certificate from Ross and have their photo taken. Whilst they made their way to the stage, Mathew provided some background on each apprentice, including their hobbies and interest away from work.
