Bodman Transport are a proud, family-owned and operated freight distribution and warehousing company based in Albury, and we are proud to have partnered with owner, Mick Bodman, and the Bodman Transport team for nearly 20 years.

Since starting the business in 2001 with just one truck, Bodman Transport has grown considerably over the last 24 years. The CMV Truck & Bus Albury/Wodonga team continues to work closely with Mick, Kelly, Jay and the team to ensure that Bodman Transport can continue to provide their high level of service and quick, efficient deliveries they are renowned for.
“We've got 37 employees now, with 22 trucks and eight vans. We're based in Albury and feed Wagga and Griffith, where we've also got depots. We also service Canberra, down to Echuca, and we've got the line haul units that run Albury to Melbourne,” explains Mick.
Our relationship with Mick and Bodman Transport began in 2007 when Mick was looking for their first larger new rigid truck. They now run 10 Volvo Trucks, two Mack Trucks and 10 UD Trucks as part of their fleet.
“We came up with a solution for them – a Volvo FM Rigid which has now travelled over 1.8 million kilometres,” explains Andrew Thompson, CMV Truck & Bus Albury/Wodonga Key Account Manager.
“Going from one truck originally, we've been able to work with Bodman’s for many years. When they thought they wanted to see if Prime Movers would work for their business, we were able to introduce some used trucks that they purchased.”
“Volvo, UD and Mack Trucks work really well for Bodman’s as they’re extremely versatile. Mick and the team are great supporters of everything that we do and our three brands,” explains Andrew.
When asked why Mick chose, and continues to choose, to work with the CMV Truck & Bus team, it comes down to the customer service and relationship that has been built over the years.
“CMV Truck & Bus were pretty much the only company in the area that took us seriously. They actually looked after us with the first truck we were looking at buying, and through that experience, we’ve been there since,” explains Mick.
“I think it’s been 25 trucks over the years and what I value most about my relationship with Andrew now is honesty. If something goes wrong, he’s there.”
It’s not just the relationships built with our salespeople that we pride ourselves on, all of our departments go that extra mile for our customers, whether it’s parts, service or administration.
“I've been dealing with CMV Truck & Bus a long time, so I have a really good relationship with them. Good rapport with the mechanics to the service crew and sales. Every time I walk into the dealership, everyone's happy to see you – a fair bit of banter goes on,” says Mick.
Andrew is also extremely proud of the relationship he has built with Mick and the Bodman Transport team and knows they will be looked after by our team no matter what.
“If Mick or the Bodman’s team come in, they know everybody there, so if I'm not there at the time and they need to pass on a message, they can give it to somebody and it'll come through,” explains Andrew.
To help ensure that their business has as little downtime as possible, Bodman’s Transport have transitioned their newer trucks onto service agreements with CMV Truck & Bus.
“It's been good because it balances all the payments out and all the parts are on the shelf, so there's never that issue. If not, it's overnight so that saves downtime for the vehicle being off the road. Also, the two-year warranty when fitted in the workshop gives us added peace of mind,” says Mick.
Andrew echoes this sentiment and knows the many benefits of having Volvo, UD and Mack Trucks on service agreements with CMV Truck & Bus, particularly the minimised downtime.
“We’ve transitioned all their new fleet into service contracts so that they can have that peace of mind. They know what their costs are per month for that truck, and the regular maintenance minimises the unplanned stops,” says Andrew.
The longstanding relationship Andrew and our Albury/Wodonga team have with Mick and the Bodman transport team is a testament to our commitment to building rapport and understanding their unique business needs.
“They respect us, we respect them. It's an excellent relationship and it's long-standing, which I think in today's market and industry, you need to have those long-standing relationships with the people you work with closely,” explains Andrew.
What we’re most proud of is that when asked, Mick would recommend us to others if they’re looking to partner with Victoria’s number one heavy duty truck supplier.
“I definitely would. I find they're the full package. Everything from service, sales, breakdown, you name it, they do it. It’s been a good ride!” Says Mick.
