If there is one thing we're extremely proud of, it's the CMV Truck & Bus' Award Winning Apprentice Program.
The CMV Truck & Bus Apprentice Program has proudly run for 20 years, there's nothing we enjoy more than welcoming our new apprentices and celebrating our graduating apprentice technicians each year at out Apprentice Welcome & Graduation Evening!

New Apprentices, Graduates and their special guests gathered in CMV Truck & Bus Derrimut’s impressive showroom for the evening to enjoy beverages and delicious canapes by Taylor Made Gourmet.
It was wonderful to come together and have the chance to reflect on and celebrate the achievements of our apprentices.
CMV Truck & Bus and CMV Group management, past graduates and mentors, plus Kangan Institute and MEGT representatives also attended the evening which provided a great opportunity for new and graduating Apprentices to mingle with those in their industry, and learn more about the many career pathways available for them at CMV Truck & Bus.
The ceremony began with our General Manager, Miles Crawford, welcoming our guests and then he provided a history of the Apprentice Program.
“20 years ago our General Manager at the time, Dale Jackson, and Managing Director, Paul Crawford, acknowledged that we were selling more and more trucks and the demand for service and repairs were at unprecedented levels. We weren’t able to recruit high quality qualified technicians to sufficiently support the growing business, so together they established our own Training Centre to develop highly skilled Technicians and Parts Specialists. As a result the Apprentice Program was launched in 2003,” explained Miles.
The greatest contributors to the success of our Apprentice Program are our hardworking and dedicated Apprentice Mentors. Our Mentors are equipped with a wealth of knowledge and are committed to providing quality training for the Apprentices, and assist in continuing their development throughout the training program.
We would also like to make a special mention to Lesley Wickham who has over the last two decades, been the constant in our Apprentice Program and has tirelessly administered the process and paperwork of more than 21,000 applicants.
CMV Truck & Bus Training Institute Manager, Mathew Wyatt, then took to the stage to and together with Miles, presented the commencement of training certificates to our 27 new apprentices and welcomed them to the CMV Truck & Bus family!
“We're thrilled to have you join our team and look forward to watching you grow and progress within the CMV Truck & Bus business,” said Matt.

Next up our Technical Trainer, Richard Lim, who participated in the Apprentice Program himself and has been with CMV Truck and Bus for over 12 years, was honoured to help present the certificates to our 20 Graduating Apprentices.

In celebrating 20 years, we honour the past and embrace the future. On the night we recognised the accomplishments of the Apprentice Program over the years including seeing an incredible 340 graduates and current Apprentices through the program. An absolutely outstanding achievement!
We’d like to thank everyone who joined us on the night to celebrate our incredible Apprentices. “We look forward to supporting each of you in your careers within the CMV Group and watching your growth and development within the business in the years ahead,” concluded Miles.
